In an effort to expand the studio curriculum, new classes are being launched in the coming month. These classes will follow a different format than current sessions in that they will feature a centralised learning structure all students will follow. Open structure classes of course are still available during regular timings for those that wish to have a more flexibility in what they study.
The history of oil painting spans over 5 centuries. Throughout this time, multiple ingenious techniques were devised to exploit the medium’s qualities. Unfortunately, many of these practices have fallen out of favour in current art curriculum.
Until now! This workshop will reveal some of the techniques of the old masters such that they can be used in the context of contemporary art making. We will cover a variety of historical painting techniques, such as glazing, scumbling, use of mediums, and much more!
